The 47 members, of which 36 are shellfish growers who are spread out in three zones: Northern Zone , Central Zone and the Southern Zone . All shellfish growers in the Association, raise American oysters (Crassostrea virginica). The other members include businesses, institutes and/or students. By becoming a member of the Association, you have access to the list of all the members of the Association via Intranet.
Members do not necessarily have to have their head office registered in New Brunswick in order to join the Association, however their aquaculture leases must be registered in New Brunswick. Members have as a mandate to share the vision and mission of the Association, to adhere to the goals of the Association, and to comply with the stipulations of the By Laws of the Association.
Members are divided into the following categories:
- “Regular” Member: refers to a professional shellfish grower who is a member of the Association in good standing;
- “Development” Member: refers to a shellfish grower who is not yet classified as a professional, but who is a member of the Association in good standing;
- “Business” Member: refers to any business working in the field of shellfish growing, either in sales or service production;
- “Institutional” Member: refers to municipalities, universities, environmental organizations or other groups interested in the development of shellfish growing;
- “Student” Member: refers to a post-secondary student wishing to become a member of the Association;
- “Honorary” Member: refers to an ex-officio member or an honorary life member.
